Shoura seeks study on keeping expat and dependents fee at same level for 2020

The Shoura Council on Wednesday called for coordination among the relevant authorities to carry out study on the possibility of keeping the expatriate fee on companies and dependents fee on expatriates for the fiscal year of 2020 at the same level of what is being charged for the current year.

Deputy Chairman Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatani presided over the session, which discussed the annual report of the economic and energy committee on the report of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment.

Assistant President of the Council Yahya Al-Samaan said that the committee called on the ministry to strengthen the role of consumers in monitoring various establishments and business activities through the use of modern technology applications in a way realizing their satisfaction.

It also asked to study the strict application of the provisions of the anti-fraud law and develop it in a way that ensures its effectiveness and achieve the desired goals.

The committee called for coordination with the relevant authorities to study the reasons for the absence of companies in some regions of the Kingdom, and work to address it in accordance with the objectives of Vision 2030, in addition to achieving balanced development of various regions.

The committee called for an evaluation of the outcome of its efforts at the diplomatic and economic levels, promote foreign trade and agreements signed with many countries and global institutions, and their impact in supporting the local economy and achieve the goals of Vision 2030.
