Pakistan’s consul general calls on the OIC secretary general

JEDDAH — Pakistan’s Consul General Khalid Majid, called on the OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousaf Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen at OIC secretariat here. It was his first meeting with OIC secretary general after his appointment as consul general.

Dr. Othaimeen congratulated him on his appointment as Consul General in Jeddah. He expressed his hope that he will be able to play dynamic diplomatic role during his stay in Saudi Arabia.

Majid thanked the secretary general and said that as a founding member of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Pakistan is committed to the values and objectives of the Organization.

Majid said that Pakistan is in process of establishing Pakistan’s Permanent Mission to OIC, which will further strengthen the liaison and cooperation with OIC.

He reiterated that Pakistan greatly values the support of the OIC on Kashmir dispute and its role in promotion of the Kashmir cause at international level.

Majid also requested the secretary-general to send OIC Special Envoy on Jammu and Kashmir to Pakistan, to have first-hand information on the issue at the Line of Control.
