More than 2,200 diabetic amputation cases last year

As many as 2,222 diabetic patients had limb amputations during 2018, according to the health ministry.

In an official statistical report, the ministry said the patients had various limbs amputated due to diabetes.

It said the number of amputations went up from 1,706 in 2015 to as many as 2,222 by the end of last year.

The ministry said the diabetic patients who had their limbs amputated called on the Rehabilitation Centers for artificial organs.

It warned diabetic patients not to injure themselves because this may result in organ amputation.
