Al Burj, ARM, Chinar, Royal Jurana in MI Memorial Cup semifinals

JEDDAH — Al Burj, ARM United, Chinar and Royal Jurana beat CH XI, Pak Zalmi, Aces and Jeddah Gladiators respectively to qualify for the semifinals of the Muhammad Iqbal Memorial T20 League, organized by Jeddah Cricket Association and sponsored by Zultec. Semis line up will be Al Burj vs ARM United and Chinar vs Royal Jurana.

Mohsin’s fine all round performance — 68 runs and fantastic spell of 4 wickets for 8 runs enabled Al Burj comfortably beat CH XI by 30 runs. ARM pipped Pak Zalmi by 9 runs thanks to Ali Awan’s aggressive knock of 79 runs and fine spell by Hafeez (3 for 26) and Arsalan (3 for 35), despite fighting knock by Abid (76) going in vain.

Chinar trounced Aces by 8 wickets aided by fine bowling spell by Riyas and Uzair picking 2 wickets a piece and Kazim’s unbeaten 73. Royal Jurana fought back to get over the line against Jeddah Gladiators winning by 3 wickets with fine bowling from Wasim (3 for 46) and a patient 41 from Shoaib.

Al Burj beat CH XI by 30 runs

Al Burj 198 for 7 20 overs (Mohsin 68, Bilal Yusuf 54, Qassim 2 for 41, Noni 2 for 29). CH XI 168 for 9 20 overs (Ali 47, Shahid 29, Mohsin 4 for 8, Khalid 2 for 2)7.

ARM United beat Pak Zalmi by 9 runs

ARM 179 for 9 20 0vers (Ali 79, Goshi 28, Asad 3 for 35, Fida 2 for 31). Pak Zalmi 170 for 9 20 overs (Abid 76, Waqas 25, Hafeez 3 for 26, Arsalan 3 for 35).

Chinar Beat Aces by 8 wickets

Aces 143 for 5 20 overs (Adnan 43, Bilal 31, Riyas 2 for 22, Uzair 2 for 30). Chinar 144 for 2 15 overs (Kazim 73NO, Israr 20NO).

Royal Jurana beat Jeddah Gladiators by 3 wickets

Jeddah Gladiators 167 for 7 20 overs (Ali Raza 36, Imran 30, Wasim 3 for 46, Ali 2 for 38). Royal Jurana 168 for 7 16.1 overs (Shoaib 41, Asad 25, Ali 3 for 35). — SG
