Pakistan’s diplomatic and moral help for Kashmiris continues: CG

Pakistan’s foreign policy envisages continued and unstinted diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiris in their struggle for their rights, Consul General Khalid Majid has said.

He was addressing a function organized by Jammu and Kashmir Community Overseas (JKCO) Saudi Arabia in connection with Kashmir Black Day at a local restaurant here on Monday.

The event began with the recitation of a few verses from Holy Qur'an by a student Jawwad Zafer. Choudhry Fayyaz presented a naat (eulogy for Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Qari Sultan presented a poem on Kashmir.

Consul General Majid said the plight of Kashmiris has been the focus of Prime Minister Imran Khan at every international forum and he will continue to raise the issue till the Kashmiris attain their independence.

The consul general condemned the ongoing Indian atrocities and human rights violations in Kashmir and called on the international community to exert pressure on India to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir issue in accordance with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

"The OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) is aware of India's atrocities and fully supports our stand on Kashmir,” he said.

The function was chaired by JKCO Chairman Sardar Ashfaq and conducted by Sardar Waqas Inayat, general secretary of the JKCO.

Other guests were Shaiq Ahmed Bhutto, vice consul general; Arshad Munir, consular (press); Mohammed Hasan, consular; and distinguished members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri community and large number of media personalities.

Sardar Waqas Inayat, Chaudhry Khurshid Metial, Raja Shamrooz, Arif Mughal and Sardar Mehtab also addressed the audience.

Khalid Gujjar made supplications for Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Kashmir and for the Muslim Ummah.
