‘Car 2030’ sold for over SR3.2m in Riyadh Motor Show

RIYADH — A car of the future called “Car 2030” launched on the first day of the Riyadh Motor Show in Janadriyah was sold on Saturday in a public auction for SR3,204,500.

The auctioning of the classic cars is one of the major attractions of the show, one of the ongoing events of the Riyadh Season zones.

The “Car 2030” was inaugurated by Turki Al-Asheikh, chairman of the board of directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and president of Riyadh Season, on Thursday.

The ‘Car 2030’ is a sports car, which has manufactured to be used on all types of roads. Its roof is manufactured from a blend of aluminum and fiberglass, and its body is made of carbon. The car is a fully electrical car.

The international exhibition for motor vehicles is the most influential automotive show in the region that displays the latest modern passenger and commercial cars and other motor vehicles from around the world.

Brazilian soccer star Ronaldinho became the first buyer at the Riyadh Motor Show, with a successful bid for the car of his fancy on Thursday. Aston Martin (Rapid AMR), one of the world’s 200 cars of its kind, grabbed the fascination of the Brazilian star, who readily bought it. There are more than 1,200 classic and rare cars in the world. — SG
