Pacts inked to create 36,000 industrial jobs by 2021

RIYADH —
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Abdullah Abu Thanain has signed a memorandum of understanding involving five parties to establish a partnership aimed at raising Saudization rates and stimulating the private industrial sector to achieve further growth by working towards creating as many as 35,982 jobs in the industrial sector by 2021.

The parties involved in the MoU are Ministry of Labor and Social Development, Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF), and the Council of Saudi Chambers.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Minister of Labor and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef.

The MoU aims to give incentives and programs to enhance the potential of the targeted industrial jobs with support for hiring Saudis and providing them training so as to enable them to take up jobs.

It will also be aimed to follow-up and monitoring the impact of Saudization in the industrial sector, and improve legislation, regulations and procedures to support achieving targets and increase employment rates using appropriate mechanisms such as Nitaqat Saudization Program and localization of jobs and monitoring their implementation.

Necessary statistical reports will be issued monthly on the percentage of Saudization in industrial sector as well as quarterly reports on achievements made and the challenges faced by the working team and identifying the direct reasons for this.
