RIYADH – The Ministry of Labor and Social Development’s (MLSD) ‘Mowaamah’program aims to develop and support work environment and to promote the work of people with disabilities so that they can be assimilated into the labor market.
The program is a unique and qualitative experience that strives to stimulate firms to give more attention to the work environment of people with disabilities such that it reflects positively on the performance of the firms and their workers with disabilities.
To obtain a Mowaamah certificate, firms must fulfill eight criteria that will prove that the work environment is supportive of people with disabilities and employing them. The condition of the building and its accessibility to people with disabilities are not only checked, but the work environment is viewed in a more comprehensive fashion to measure the degree of interaction of the firm and its progress in introducing the necessary improvements in order to integrate people with disabilities into the work environment.
The eight criteria are: compliance, knowledge, employment, human resources management, products and services, interaction, utilities, information technology and communications.
Mega, large and medium organizations can obtain Mowaamah certificates after fulfilling the requirements by visiting the program’s website via the link: www.mowaamah.sa to be counted in the Nitaqat ratio 4:1.
The Mowaamah Certificate is divided into four categories – Gold, Silver, Bronze and Participant. It is awarded according to the degree of evaluation obtained by the enterprise.
