Average of 1.38 cars for each Saudi family: GaStat

— Each Saudi family owns about 1.38 cars in average, the General Authority for Statistics (GaStat) said in its household survey for 2019, according to local press reports on Wednesday.

The authority said the average oil change is 8.85 times a year while the average annual change of tire is 3.12.

The survey said bout 77.61 percent of the Saudi families use the general water system as the main source of water supplies while 61.66 percent use the public network for sewage.

It said about 85.43 percent of the citizens get rid of their electronic garbage via containers. They generate as many as 6.5 million ton of garbage.

The survey said the locally produced wood constitute about 89.40 percent of the woods used in households while about 90.24 percent of the coal used in the households is imported.

It said about 64.70 percent of the families have complete or some knowledge about environment.

The household survey is a collection of data on the Saudi homes, the slouches of the surrounding pollution, the water and sewage services and the organic and electronic garbage.
