Three Filipino performers to celebrate culture in a magic night at Riyadh

RIYADH —
An unprecedented event that celebrates the Filipino culture will be held on Friday, as part of Riyadh season.

In a night of joy and celebration, three Filipino performances TNT Boys, Ogie Alcasid, and Lara Maigue will have a first time appearance in Riyadh boulevard.

The announcement was posted on Twitter by Turki Al-Asheikh, Royal Court Adviser and chairman of the General Entertainment Authority in the Kingdom.

“Don’t miss your favorite artists performing on stage like TNT Boys, Ogie Alcasid, and Lara Maigue now starting from SR50, celebrating 50 years of Saudi-Philippines diplomatic relations,” GEA said.

The pricing of the tickets for the event is set from SR50 to SR250 for this concert.

The Filipino night will take Place at the 22,000-seat Mohammed Abdo theater in Riyadh boulevard. The Boulevard zone, which covers 400,000 square meters, hosted a wide range of entertainment options and activities for all ages, including the outdoor cinema, restaurants, and sports, music and theatrical events.

Many Filipinos living in Saudi Arabia are working in different sectors such as health, administration, engineering, mechanical and skilled jobs.

Maigue, born on June 7, 1991, is a famous songwriter and singer. She is a classically trained soprano. Her musical repertoires include jazz, opera and Broadway.

Alcasid is a famous songwriter, singer, television presenter, comedian, actor, and parodist. Currently, he is also the president of OPM (Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mang-Aawit). He is a well-renowned name in the community with many Gold, Platinum, and Double Platinum certifications.

TNT Boys are known as The Big Shot Trio or Tawag ng Tanghalan Boys. They have already made their name in the international world with solo and guest performance, performing in the United Arab Emirates, US and Canada.

The Riyadh Season events was launched at the Boulevard zone in the northern part of the capital on Oct. 17, 2019, with an audience exceeding 600,000 people witnessing the colorful start to the Riyadh spectacle.

The ambitious 2019 Saudi Seasons initiative, the first of its kind in the region, was launched in February and includes 11 local seasons covering most parts of the Kingdom. Designed to promote the fledgling Saudi entertainment sector and boost tourism, it is attracting some of the biggest names in world entertainment. — SG
