54,515 Saudis join labor market in third quarter

RIYADH —
Some 57,665 expatriates have left the labor market during the third quarter of the year and were replaced by 54,515 Saudis, local daily Al-Watan reported on Sunday quoting the Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf).

The fund said as many as 8.2 million Saudis and expatriates were working for the private sector.

Hadaf said the number of Saudi men and women working for the private sector were 1.7 million of whom 67.7 percent were men and 32.3 women.

The fund added that the ratio of the nationalized jobs in the labor market has reached 20.4 percent.

Hadaf has a network of fixed branches in various parts of the Kingdom. These branches have trained and qualified the Saudi job seekers employing as many as 6,396 of them in the private sector.

It also has qualifying and employment centers (Taqat) which have during the third quarter of the year found jobs for 8,812 Saudis.

There are 40 employment centers consisting of 24 for men and 16 for women.

Saudis holding government and private jobs were 3.1 million men and women during the past three months.

The fund also has seven centers to qualify and employ people of special needs of whom 265 were employed during the past three months.
