RIYADH — The Council of Ministers on Tuesday approved the establishment of several authorities related to various art forms, music and literature.

The Cabinet designated Minister of Culture, who is the head of the boards of these bodies, to exercise their powers until the formation of the board for each one of these authorities.

Minister of Media Turki Al-Shabanah said that there will be separate authorities for literature, publishing and translation; museums; heritage; films; libraries; architectural and design arts; music, theater and performing arts; visual arts; culinary arts, and fashion.

The Cabinet took the decision after reviewing the report of the minister of culture and two recommendations from the Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA).

The Cabinet approved an amendment of an earlier order issued by Minister of Labor and Social Development with regard to meeting the expense of the sponsorship change by the new sponsor.

According to the amendment, it is permissible to transfer the sponsorship of any of the foreigners according to the established procedures, and the employer shall meet the expat fee if it was not paid by the previous employer, as well as the cost of the sponsorship transfer and the change of profession.

However, the new employer need not bear the fee if he is a disabled person. The conditions of recruitment shall be approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
