JEDDAH — Noted Saudi scientist Dr. Hayat Sindi has received an invitation from the G20 to become the Global Ambassador for the Health and Development Partnership of the Group.
Alan Donnelly, convener of the G20 Health and Development Partnership, and executive chairman of the Sovereign Sustainability and Development, expressed a desire to benefit from the extensive activities of Dr. Sindi in order to communicate the Health and Development Partnership messages to the political, private sector and global academic circles, through her activities and participations in different events, conferences and panel discussions. She would also be required to help link Health and Development Partnership with policymakers and those interested at the global level.
He added that the scientific background of Dr. Sindi, who designed and invented sensors to diagnose patients at the lowest costs, is an aspiration influencer and a great asset for the G20 Health and Development Partnership.
The partnership’s current global ambassadors include:
• German MEP, Elmar Brok, Member of the European Parliament, former long-term Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee and current member of the delegation to the United States;
• Austrian MEP, Paul Ruebig, Member of the European Parliament, Member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and the Committee on Budgets and Substitute Member of the Committee on Development and in the Committee on International Trade;
• The Rt Hon. the Lord Cunningham of Felling DL, Member of the House of Lords;
• Ricardo Baptista Leite, Member of Parliament Portugal, head of UNITE;
• Philippe Fauchet, OBE, Founder of Mirasense Partners, Consulting Services for Life Sciences and Senior Advisor to the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), Japan;
• Prof. Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Aldahmash, Director General, Prince Naif Bin Abdulaziz Health Research Center at King Saud University and Acting Dean, Alfarabi Medical College, Riyadh;
• Mishaal Fahd K. Al-Sudairy, Sustainability Photographer and Board Member of the Saudi Aviation Club, former president of the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation.
Donnelly praised the role of the global ambassadors who represent the Health and Development Partnership. “We are always looking forward to the ideas and advice of our ambassadors to open a new horizons for the future” he said.
