RIYADH — Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy said that the world’s direction is changing towards Riyadh unlike in the past when the direction was towards the West. He hailed the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, describing it as being a vision for the future.

Sarkozy made these remarks while attending the Global Cybersecurity Forum. He expressed happiness over the opportunity to attend the forum.

The former French president stressed the importance of the two initiatives adopted by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman to protect children in the cyber world and empower women in cybersecurity.

Sarkozy pointed out the seriousness of cybersecurity as an outperforming weapon since cyberattacks may destroy an entire country without knowing who is the perpetrator of such an attack.

The former president described the world of cybersecurity as chaotic, as there are no laws and authority and that there is no possibility for dialogue, as all political organizations have overlooked this issue politically and technically.

He proposed to confront this by activating initiatives and establishing a periodic annual forum in which big states in the field of cybersecurity participate. He lauded the Kingdom’s initiatives to confront crises related to cybersecurity.
