JEDDAH — The new King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah will top the region's airports, predicted Stefano Baronci, director general of Airports Council International (ACI) for Asia and the Pacific region.
Baronci, on a visit to the Kingdom, where he interacted with senior General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) officials, said the new airport in Jeddah is distinguished in terms of its design and beautiful formation. He said other airports in the Kingdom are also witnessing great development. He said he has a great expectation from the new airport in Jeddah and predicted a bright future for it.
Baronci, an Italian national, expressed his happiness at visiting GACA and said his visit came at an appropriate time for everyone, as he has recently took over the presidency of ACI for the Asia Pacific region, and was looking forward to a greater partnership in the near future with GACA.
At GACA, Baronci’s delegation was received by Assistant to the President for Operation, Suleiman Al-Bassam, and Assistant to the President for Haj and Umrah Services at GACA, Abdullah Al-Rimi.
It was also met by the Assistant to the President for Airports Information Technology Ahmed Al-Qurashi.
The visiting delegation listened to a detailed explanation about the capacity and services provided by the airport for travelers, as well as the modern technologies present at the new King Abdulaziz International Airport. The airport has been designed to the highest level of international standards.
The delegation was also introduced to the most prominent investment opportunities available at the airport.
The visit comes with the aim of discussing opportunities for partnerships and exchanging experiences in the airports sector and other related services with ACI.
This in addition to strengthening relations with the most prominent international organizations and companies in the aviation industry, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to advance the air transport industry to the highest level of international standards.
