RIYADH – Saudi-based WWE fans were treated to a fantastic yester night of top-quality entertainment as superstars such as The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Seth Rollins and many more produced a top-class show at Riyadh on Thursday.
As ever, Saudi spectators turned out in their thousands to watch WWE’s first show of 2020 in the region, a night on which history was made as Naomi and Bayley took part in the first-ever all-female title bout in KSA, with Bayley eventually emerging victorious.
Lesnar got the better of Ricochet, while there were impressive tag-team victories for the Miz and John Morrison, along with Seth Rollins and Murphy.
The biggest roar of the night arrived when The Undertaker, a true WWE icon, appeared as a surprise entrant in the Tuwaiq Trophy match, with AJ Styles on the receiving end of his trademark finishing move. His appearance was short and sweet, but The Undertaker’s popularity was clear for all to see.
The history-making bout between Naomi and Bayley didn’t disappoint as both wrestlers performed to a high level before Bayley eventually retained her title, and Saudi star Mansoor was also in action, emerging victorious in front of his home crowd.
Super ShowDown drew to a conclusion with a high-quality match between Goldberg and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt. The contest ebbed and flowed, but it was Goldberg who pinned his opponent to secure victory and send the Saudi fans home with smiles on their faces. – SG
