RIYADH — The Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority will organize Translation Forum at the Princess Nourah University Convention Center in Riyadh on March 19-21.
Several specialists in the field of translation will talk about diverse topics during various sessions, seminars and workshops, to be held during the three-day event.
The forum includes three educational and training workshops along with seven dialogue sessions that discuss the most important issues related to translation and other activities pertaining to it.
The topics of the dialogue sessions on Thursday, the first day, include the audio-visual translation while another session titled “a translator’s experiment” deals with concerns and experiences of translators.
On the second day, the forum will have three dialogue sessions, the first of which is titled “A writer’s experience with translator”, which will address relationship between writers and their translators, while the title of the second session is “Instant challenges facing a translator,” and the third session will be on “Translation platforms.”
On the third day, the forum will witness two sessions and these include a session on “Translation and transmission of the cultural context.”
There will be exhibitions and workshops related to translation, as well as translation competition for the public and university students and the contest will be focused on translation of videos.
The Translation Forum comes in the context of the efforts of the Literature, Translation and Publishing Authority to organize the translation industry in the Kingdom and enhance its influential role in communication between world cultures.
It also aims to shed light on the reality of the translation profession in the Kingdom and to open communication windows that bring together the community of translators with relevant authorities in the field.
