17 new coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia, total now 62

RIYADH — The Ministry of Health reported on Friday 17 new cases of the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), raising the total number of cases in Saudi Arabia to 62.

The ministry said in a statement that the first case of a citizen who was in contact with a previously reported case of infection. He is quarantined in a health facility in Riyadh.

The second case is of an expatriate coming from Portugal via Turkey. He is quarantined in a health facility in Riyadh.

The ministry added that the third case of a citizen coming from Iran through Oman, and she is currently quarantined in a health facility in Al-Ahsa.

The fourth case of a citizen coming from Turkey via Lebanon, where she spent 5 days in Lebanon, and had symptoms from the night she arrived in Lebanon, after spending 6 days in Turkey, and she is being quarantined in a health facility in Jeddah.

The Ministry said that the fifth and sixth cases are of two Saudi women coming from Iraq, who are being quarantined in Al Qatif.

The ministry added that there are 11 new cases, all Egyptian nationality, and they are in quarantine in Makkah, They have no symptoms but they are from the same group which was in contact with the Egyptian visitor, who was announced infected during the past days.
