Saudi-African and Arab-African summits postponed over coronavirus fears

RIYADH — Saudi-African and Arab-African summits that were scheduled to be hosted by Saudi Arabia in the first quarter of 2020 has been postponed over coronavirus fears, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday.

The ministry said in a statement, that the postponement comes in line with Saudi Arabia's keenness on taking precautionary measures to combat the coronavirus within the framework of the international efforts in this regard as well as the measures recommended by the competent health authorities to reduce gatherings.

The ministry added that the decision was taken in coordination with the two regional organizations, and new dates are to be determined later. — SG
