Saudi Arabia to call G20 meet on coronavirus in coming days

RIYADH —
Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense discussed the coronavirus pandemic with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, Saudi Press Agency reported on Monday.

Both the leaders reviewed the international efforts to combat the deadly virus and prevent its spread over a phone call.

During their talks, Crown Prince told Spanish premier that he would call an extraordinary G20 meeting in near future to tackle the pandemic and its economic impact, Sanchez' office said.

The crown prince stressed Saudi Arabia’s efforts to coordinate the international fight against coronavirus.

He also said Saudi Arabia, through its role presiding over the G20, would adopt policies to ease the economic burden from the outbreak.
