Bahrain reports third coronavirus death

MANAMA — A 65-year-old man passed away on Tuesday, marking the third death from coronavirus in Bahrain.

The Bahraini citizens, who had recently returned from Iran via an indirect flight, was suffering from underlying and chronic health problems, Bahrain News Agency reported citing a statement from the kingdom’s health ministry.

“The deceased was one of the existing cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and was undergoing treatment in one of the isolation and treatment centers under the supervision of a specialized medical team,” the health ministry statement read.

So far, 26,646 people have been tested in Bahrain, out of which 210 cases of coronavirus have been detected.

Meanwhile, Bahrain on Tuesday began deploying security patrols on public roads to enforce precautionary measures taken to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
