MUSCAT — Oman announced 15 new coronavirus cases — all citizens — on Wednesday, bringing the total number of infections to 99 in the country, Oman News Agency reporting citing a statement from the Ministry of Health.

According to the ONA report, seven out of the 15 cases are believed to have come into close contact with already infected people, and seven cases are linked to travel to the United Kingdom, the United States and Spain, while one case is under epidemiological investigation.

The Ministry also said that 17 patients have recovered and they have been advised to stay at home quarantine and adhere to health instructions.

Meanwhile, the ministry has called on all citizens and residents to keep on washing hands with water and soap, as well as avoiding touching the face, nose, mouth and eyes, and following the healthy habits when coughing and sneezing.

It has also asked people to strictly follow the distancing instructions issued by the competent authorities.
