JEDDAH — Twenty-five people were infected with coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Kuwait, bringing the total number of infections to 342 in the country, according to a Kuwait News Agency report citing a statement from the Ministry of health.

Earlier in the day, Kuwaiti Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Basel Al-Sabah announced the recovery of one person from the novel coronavirus, raising the country's total recoveries to 81.

In addition, 261 virus patients are still receiving necessary treatment, while 15 others are in intensive care units; including five in a critical condition, the KUNA report said.

The ministry once again called on citizens and residents to follow the guidelines and instructions of Kuwaiti health authorities and World Health Organization, primarily maintaining social distancing and home quarantine in order to curb the spread of the virus.

Kuwait has stepped up its efforts to prevent the spread of the lethal virus by imposing a 11-hour curfew and suspending all flights indefinitely.
