Kuwait reports 112 new coronavirus cases and 6 more recoveries

KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Wednesday recorded 112 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 885, Kuwait News Agency reported citing a statement from the country’s health ministry.

As part of the daily media briefing on coroanvirus developments, the ministry’s spokesman said that 21 patients are in intensive care.

Those currently receiving treatment at the country’s hospitals reached 743 patients, and 911 individuals have completed quarantine, according to the spokesman. Kuwait has reported one death so far.


Earlier in the day, the ministry announced the recovery of six new patients, bringing the total to 111 recoveries.

Kuwait has implemented several strict measures over the past few weeks to combat the spread of the virus. The country’s Cabinet imposed a total lockdown on some areas for two weeks which started on Monday. A partial curfew in effect across the country was extended to 6 a.m.
