Bahrain reports 32 new coronavirus cases, 18 recoveries

MANAMA — Bahrain on Thursday recorded 32 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 355, the state news agency said citing a statement from the Ministry of Health.

Out of the total 355 active cases, only three are in intensive care and the rest are in stable health condition.

It also announced that 18 more patients have recovered, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 495.

Eighteen out of the total 32 new cases migrant workers who came into direct contacts with previously infected individuals.


Another six new cases are of individuals who had traveled abroad, the ministry said.

Precautionary measures to ensure their health and safety have been taken, the ministry added, saying that all infected individuals are currently in quarantine.

Bahrain is one of the first countries in the world to loosen restrictions imposed to curb the coronavirus outbreak.

According to a report in Al Arabiya English, shopping malls and some stores reopened their doors on Friday after the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism announced the easing of restrictions.
