RIYADH —
The Ministry of Health, via its platform “Volunteerism in Health Sector”, has received over 79,000 volunteers wishing to provide their health and support services to serve the nation, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported Friday.

This is in implementation of the principle of cooperation between the individuals in society and in response to the wish of volunteers in Saudi Arabia, including health practitioners and specialists in fields that support volunteering in the health sector.

The platform empowers interested persons to register in the An-Nafadh Unified National E-port, so that their services can be availed of in various fields.

Before that they have got to enroll in and pass the Community Volunteering Course under the aegis of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, so that they are well prepared for any volunteering tasks in the health sector.

The “Volunteerism in Health Sector” platform is deemed the recognized national e-port to empower volunteers, and showcase the volunteering opportunities in the health sector in partnership with several related government authorities in building and preparing an electronic platform and giving the opportunity to volunteers of various categories to provide their services in all regions of the Kingdom.

The platform receives volunteers among staff from the health sector holding professional licenses, students specializing in the health field and retired health personnel.

The platform also targets persons who wish to volunteer in providing support services from other specializations and fields.

This electronic platform comes within the efforts being exerted to improve volunteering in the health sector, and to ultimately achieve the goals of volunteerism in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
