RIYADH — Saudi Arabia authorities have confirmed that there is no risk of contamination with coronavirus from packaged foods and beverages, including bottled water, following public uncertainty over food safety during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nestlé Waters has ensured the continuity of production at its seven factories in Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that its priority is to provide safe water to customers, and implementing additional measures and the most stringent quality standards to maintain the safety of employees, products, and customers.
The company has temporarily halted production at one factory in Dammam, after one employee tested positive for COVID-19.
Nestlé is currently working closely with local authorities to deep clean and disinfect the factory, and will resume production as soon as possible. It is also supporting all employees through this temporary halt.
Nestlé confirms that all Nestlé PureLife products are safe for consumption. All other factories across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continue to operate with increased safety measures and highest quality standards, delivering safe water to our customers. — SG
