RIYADH — In yet another relief measure for vehicle owners — citizens as well as residents, the authorities have announced that the driving licenses can be renewed electronically via the "Absher" platform.

Announcing the decision on its official twitter account, the Directorate General of Traffic (Maroor) said that the move aims to facilitate the beneficiaries during the curfew which is in place as part of preventive and precautionary measures to prevent the spread of cornavirus.

Earlier this week, the traffic authorities waived the requirement for Vehicle Periodic Inspection (fahas) certificate for renewing vehicle registration (Istamara). Now it can also be done electronically.
