RIYADH — Saudi Arabia reported 762 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 7,142, the spokesman of the country’s Ministry of Health said on Friday.

The spokesman also announced 59 new recoveries and four more deaths, raising the total number of recoveries and fatalities in the Kingdom so far to 1,049 and to 87 respectively.

Most of the newly detected cases were reported from the city of Makkah with 325 cases and Madinah having 197.

The pictures posted by the ministry on its social media sites earlier on Friday showed medics in personal protective equipment (PPE) undertaking house-to-house visits in the neighborhoods to check temperatures of residents and conducting coronavirus tests.

Approximately 50% of today's coronavirus cases were discovered in crowded neighborhoods and labor workers camps.
