ABU DHABI — Two more patients have died from coronavirus in the United Arab Emirates while 93 people have recovered from the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, the country’s Minister of Health and Prevention said in a statement on Friday carried by state news agency WAM.

The ministry also announced 477 new coronavirus cases who are from different countries. They are stable and receiving the necessary health care.

With the detection of the new cases, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has reached 6,302.

Giving details on the new deaths, the ministry said that the victims were Gulf nationals and they were already suffering from chronic diseases.

So far the UAE has reported 37 fatalities and 1,188 recoveries from the COVID-19.

The recent spike in coronavirus cases is due to the accelerated investigative measures undertaken by the ministry to prevent the spread of the pathogen.

The ministry also announced that it has conducted more than 24,000 new tests on among different segments of society comprising citizens as well as residents, using the best and latest medical examination techniques.
