ROME — On the occasion of Italy’s Liberation Day, the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Rome illuminated its headquarters with the colors of the Italian flag, as a sign of solidarity and closeness with Italy in the common struggle against COVID-19.

"On this important day in Italian national history, the Saudi Embassy reaffirms its deep and sincere closeness to the friendly Italian people who, among the first and more than others, had to face this terrible pandemic.

“We are grateful to Italy for the leading role taken in the health management of coronavirus and we are confident that with firmness and resilience it will be able to overcome this challenge. We stand by its side.

“Today the colors of the flags of the two friendly countries illuminate the headquarters of our Embassy, to strongly reaffirm the historic ties of friendship between Italy and Saudi Arabia and the union of the two peoples in the common struggle against COVID-19.”

The Embassy of Saudi Arabia joins the Arab Solidarity Initiative with Italy in the fight against COVID-19, which this year celebrates the Italian Liberation Day through the illumination of the buildings of the Arab Embassies with the Italian flag. — SG
