NEW YORK —The Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Manzalawi has stressed that the Kingdom believes in the importance of cooperation in the principle of transparency between countries to reduce illicit financial flows and encourages various United Nations bodies to continue working and considering ways to address this situation.

He pointed out that the Kingdom's cooperation with the international community and organizations is clear in the need to adhere to agreements while enhancing the G20 countries' efforts in combating corruption and maintaining integrity — a priority in its G20 presidency.

Dr. Manzalawi made these points in his speech during a recent virtual meeting between the UN member states and the high-level panel on International Financial Accountability, Transparency and Integrity for achieving the 2030 agenda.

Dr. Manzalawi highlighted the efforts exerted by Saudi Arabia in combating corruption and delivering transparency and integrity. He stressed that combating corruption is an essential pillar to achieve the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

The panel was briefed on member states' contributions on areas that could help them in mobilizing sufficient political support to address challenges facing the world in terms of financial accountability, transparency, integrity and anti-corruption.

The panel was also informed on the priorities that countries consider important to enhance financial accountability, transparency and integrity in order to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. — SPA
