552 new coronavirus cases and 7 more deaths reported in UAE

ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates reported 552 new coronavirus cases and seven more deaths, bringing the total number of infections and fatalities in the country to 12,481 and 105 respectively, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said in a statement on Thursday carried by state news agency WAM

A total of 100 more patients have recovered from the virus, raising the total number of recoveries to 2,429.

The new cases were detected after more than 27 thousand tests were carried out among the various segments of the society using the best and latest medical examination techniques, the statement added.

The deceased are of different nationalities and they were suffering from chronic diseases, according to the statement.

The ministry expressed its regret and sincere condolences and condolences to the families of the deceased and its wishes for a speedy recovery for all the infected cases. It called on people to cooperate with the health authorities, adhere to the instructions and follow social distancing to ensure the health and safety of all. — SG
