RIYADH — The Saudi Falcons Club participated Saturday in the World Migratory Bird Day, which is held this year under the slogan "Birds Connect Our World".

The World Migratory Bird Day is an annual awareness campaign that highlights the importance of preserving migratory birds, by holding events that raise global awareness of the threats being faced by migratory birds, their environmental importance and the need for international cooperation to preserve these birds.

The United Nations dedicates two days to migratory birds, the second Saturday of May and October every year.

The Falcons Club participated in first dedicated Saturday of the World Migratory Bird Day 2020 by spreading awareness information about the importance of migratory birds and highlighting the efforts by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this regard.

The Saudi Falcons Club CEO Hossam Bin Abdulmohsen Al-Hazimi said that the celebration of the Falcons Club in this world event comes within the goals of the club to raise awareness of the importance of preserving migratory birds in general and falcons in particular.

He added that migratory falcons and birds, in general, are extremely important in providing environmental balance and sustaining wildlife. The club seeks to introduce society to this role and that would contribute to achieving environmental balance. —SPA
