Special PIA flight with 250  on board leaves for Karachi

JEDDAH -- Pakistan International Airlines special flight PK 8732 with 250 passengers on board departed from King Abdulaziz International Airport here for Karachi at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Arshad Munir, Consular (Press) at the Consulate General of Pakistan, said in a press statement that it was the first PIA flight to Karachi from Jeddah after the suspension of international flights due to COVID-19.

Consul General Khalid Majid and Deputy Consul General Shaiq Ahmad Bhutto were at the airport to see off the passengers.

The passengers were thankful to the government of Pakistan for arranging the flight to Karachi and also praised the steps being under taken for the repatriation of stranded Pakistanis.

Consul General Majid said that so far around 1,000 Pakistanis have been repatriated from Saudi Arabia through four special PIA flights. More flights are expected in the coming weeks.
