RIYADH — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched on Tuesday a project to distribute 300 food parcels weighing 22 tons and 200 kilograms to patients of thalassemia and other blood cell diseases and their families in the city of Al-Mukalla in Hadhramaut governorate, benefiting 1,800 individuals.

The food parcels were handed out to the beneficiaries in cooperation with the Seden Foundation for Thalassemia and Genetic Blood Diseases and the Charity Coalition for Humanitarian Relief.

Hassan Al-Jilani, Hadhramaut Governorate official, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom represented by the KSrelief for this humanitarian gesture that will ease the suffering of the patients.

For his part, Saleh Al-Khair Relief Coalition for Programs and Projects explained that an additional 250 food baskets will be allocated to the families of the patients.

The inauguration was attended by the Director General of Mukalla Directorate, the representative of the Arab Coalition Forces in Yemen, and a team from the KSrelief.

This comes within the framework of the various projects that the Kingdom offers through the KSrelief to the Yemeni people in all its regions without discrimination.

The KSrelief also distributed on Tuesday 3,125 cartons of dates to displaced and needy people in Marib Governorate, Yemen, benefiting 2,125 families. — SPA
