Jawazat to extend tourist visas for 3 months without fee

RIYADH —
Tourist visas that expired during the suspension of international flights due to the outbreak coronavirus pandemic will be extended automatically free of charge for three months, the General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) said late Tuesday in a statement carried by SPA.


The move, which will be implemented with cooperation of the National Information Center, comes as part of continuous efforts of the Saudi government to mitigate the economic impact of precautionary measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus and to ensure the health and safety of citizens and residents alike.

The statement added that tourist visas will be extended automatically through the system with the help of the NIC without the need for visa holders to visit Jawazat headquarters.
