Restaurants, cafes in Asir must use barcodes instead of menus

Asir Municipality has made it compulsory for restaurants and cafes to display menus using barcodes that can be scanned and read via smart phones, instead of plastic or paper menus, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said Thursday.

The Director General of Licenses and Comprehensive Supervision Dr. Muhammad Al-Aawi asserted that Asir Municipality has actually begun implementing the compulsory use of barcode readers instead of paper menus in all restaurants and cafes, as part of the precautionary measures to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
