Volunteering Campaign launched from Kingdom mosques

June 05, 2020

RIYADH — Health Volunteer Center at the Ministry of Health started the implementation of the volunteering campaign on health awareness.

The field volunteering activities were launched Friday, in coordination with the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, coinciding with the resumption of Friday prayers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's mosques — except Makkah.

Participating health volunteers have been intensifying their efforts across various mosques to raise awareness and promote ways of prevention and safety during the performance of the prayer.

As many as 1,500 volunteers participated in the campaign, in more than 250 mosques around the Kingdom's different cities, with a total of 3,000 volunteering hours.

They worked to educate worshipers of the need to adhere to the preventive precautions, the social distancing and the use of personal prayer-rug. — SPA
