DOHA — With 1,595 new coronavirus cases recorded during the last 24 hours in Qatar, the total infections in the country rose to 24,398, the ministry of health said. It also reported three new deaths bringing the death toll to 54.

The ministry added that 1,811 people had recovered in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 44,338.

The ministry urged the public to stay at home as the country remains in the “peak stage” of the outbreak.

“The Ministry of Public Health stresses that because the coronavirus outbreak is at the peak stage in Qatar, it is important not to leave the house except for when absolutely essential,” the ministry said recently.

It also stressed the importance of adhering to all measures to protect against infection, including maintaining social distancing both in the workplace and public places, as well as wearing a face mask and avoiding social visits to reduce the risk of contracting the virus. — Agencies
