KUWAIT CITY — There was a slight drop in new coronavirus infections in the country with 454 new cases detected in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 35,920, the ministry of health said on Sunday.

Significantly, the number of recoveries rose to 26,759 after 877 people recovered in the last 24 hours. For the past week, Kuwait has reported a higher number of recoveries than daily new cases.

Out of the new cases, 193 were detected in Kuwaiti citizens, 68 in Egyptians, 41 in Indians, 35 in Bangladeshis, while the other cases were found in people of other nationalities.

Seven people died due to complications from Covid-19, raising the virus-related death toll in the country to 296. — Agencies
