GENEVA — Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation authorities' continued disregard of the United Nations resolutions and their grave violations of the basic human rights of the Palestinian people, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Monday.
Saudi Arabia also denounced the increasing cases of violence against Palestinians and the accompanying huge growth in building settlements, in addition to the continuation of discriminatory and racist policies, and restricting the Palestinian people's access to health services, education, work, markets and natural resources.
In a statement during the 43rd session of the Human Rights Council, the Kingdom’s Ambassador to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva Dr. Abdulaziz Bin Muhammad Al-Wasil, affirmed that the Palestinian issue was and still is the first cause of the Kingdom, as it has never hesitated to support the Palestinian people in all ways and means to restore their legitimate rights and establish their independent Palestinian state with full sovereignty, according to the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
From this point of view, the Kingdom rejects any measures or any form of occupation of the recognized Palestinian lands, according to the UN Security Council resolutions.
Al-Wasil stressed that Chapter Seven is the main item on the agenda of the UN General Assembly and its affiliated bodies until the end of the occupation, and that the Kingdom will never accept the marginalization of this item. He expressed regret that some countries continue to boycott Chapter Seven that deals with the human rights situation in Palestine, which is still suffering from constant and grave Israeli violations.
He also reaffirmed the Kingdom's stand with the Palestinian people and its support for their choices for achieving their hopes and aspirations, stressing the seriousness of the Israeli occupation authorities’ plans to annex the West Bank or parts of it under Israeli sovereignty.
The Kingdom also rejects the illegal Israeli settlements established on the occupied land of Palestine, that has been under occupation since 1967, including the Palestinian Valley and Area C (West Bank), and strongly condemns all violations against the Palestinian people and its internationally recognized lands, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities to stop the continuous Israeli violations, especially in light of the current situation of the coronavirus pandemic, which has deepened the suffering of the Palestinian people.
