KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Thursday registered 541 new coronavirus infections and two more deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections and virus-related fatalities in the country to 38,074 and 308, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health carried by Kuwait News Agency.
During the daily press briefing, the ministry's spokesperson Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said the new cases were of people who were in close contact with patients suffering from infection with the virus.
The new cases included 283 Kuwaiti nationals and 258 people of various nationalities.
Earlier in the day, the health ministry said that a total of 616 people have recovered from the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 29,512.
The ministry added, in a statement to KUNA, that the recoveries number was based on medical tests, which proved that the patients were now virus-free.
