ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Friday announced 393 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of the confirmed COVID-19 infections to 43,752, according to a statement from the country’s Ministry of Health and Prevention carried by state news agency WAM.

The new cases were detected after the ministry conducted more than 38,000 additional coronavirus tests on citizens and residents over the past few days, the statement added.

According to the ministry, all the newly detected cases are in a stable health condition and receiving the necessary medical care.

Meanwhile, 755 people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 30,996.

The ministry also announced that two more people have died from the virus, raising the total number of deaths to 300.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients. It called on the public to cooperate with health authorities and abide by all precautionary measures, particularly social distancing protocols, to ensure the safety and protection of the public.
