Saudi Arabia’s GEA unveils guide before resuming recreational activities

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Entertainment unveiled on Friday a guide containing coronavirus protocols to ensure the health and safety of the public for resuming recreational activities, the date of which will be announced later by the relevant authorities.

The guide outlines regulations, which amusement parks, recreational centers and event organizers must follow, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The regulations, which are in line with the campaign “We Return with Caution,focus on health awareness, physical distancing, organizational and preventive dimensions.

The health awareness aspect includes the publication of messages calling on people not to attend any event if he or she has symptoms of coronavirus or was in contact with a confirmed case in the past two weeks. It provides educational materials to all workers and visitors about procedures and instructions to be followed for visiting venues for recreational activities.

The procedures call for ensuring physical distancing by adjusting the crowd flow and seating arrangements to avoid any congestion while maintaining a distance of two meters between individuals.

The instructions also include the organizational aspect that requires an epidemiological investigation of contacts of attendees and organizers, pre-registration of data and contact numbers, commitment to using electronic means of reservation and purchase of tickets, training of employees prior to commencement of the events.

With regard to preventive measures, the protocols stipulate that the event sites must be sanitized and attendees to be given sanitizers at all entrances and exits.
