RIYADH — The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) has joined the WHO-National Control Laboratory (NCL) Network for Biologicals, a global platform for cooperation and exchange of technical expertise, ensuring the quality of vaccines and other biological preparations.

The network was established in 2016, during a WHO networking meeting, in the Netherlands, where representatives of 21 national vaccine control laboratories for testing WHO endorsed vaccines, took part.

SFDA's joining the network provides its laboratories with access to review data on the findings of tests, done in various national laboratories of member states and the bio-products they made, already accredited by WHO, in addition to taking advantage of the early warning system of the network, laying ground for getting vaccines' making materials. — SPA
