Prince Khalid discusses bilateral ties, regional security with US envoy on Iran

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Defense Prince Khalid Bin Salman met with the US Special Representative for Iran, Brian Hook on Monday.

During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and their importance in preserving peace and security in the region and confronting destabilizing, hostile activities, Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the meeting, Prince Khalid affirmed that Saudi Arabia works together with the United States to establish security and peace in the region and the world, and supports the American efforts and its relentless endeavor to stop all malicious Iranian activities, repeated violations, and terrorist and subversive acts in the region.


They also discussed the recent attacks by Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militias in Yemen by drones and missiles on the Kingdom, which were intercepted and downed by Saudi air defenses.

Commenting on his meeting with Hook, Prince Khalid said: “Had a constructive meeting with US Special Representative for Iran Brian Hook to discuss bilateral relations between our two countries, which continue to work side by side in maintaining global and regional peace and security.

Prince Khalid conveyed the thanks of the Saudi leadership to the United States for sending troops and defense systems to the Kingdom in order to maintain regional security and to confront everything that threatens common interests.
