AL-MAHRA, Yemen — The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) inaugurated here on Sunday the Saudi oil derivatives (products) grant to generate and operate power stations in Yemen’s Al-Mahra Governorate for the third consecutive year, It has already benefited the inhabitants during the previous two years.

A ship consignment of the grant, earmarked for July, containing 4,800 tons of diesel was received by the Al-Mahra Governor Mohammed Ali Yasser and other dignitaries and notables of the governorate on its arrival. The reception of the grant was done during a ceremony held here.

Addressing the people, the governor pointed out the significance of the grant which helps in backing up and operating power generating stations to best serve the main utilities in the governorate, such as the hospitals and other amenities.

He extended thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, for their constant support.

He announced that the SDRPY is about to install a 40 megawatt power station, projects to pave roads and establish the King Salman Medical City in the governorate in furtherance to an array of previous service and development projects.

The SRDPY projects were in the domains of electricity, education and health, in addition to other humanitarian, relief and logistics aspects.

Such support falls in line with embodying and boosting the strong fraternal bonds binding the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen, the governor concluded. — SPA
