Qatar reports 600 new COVID-19 cases, 1,005 recoveries

DOHA — The Qatari health ministry on Tuesday reported 600 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, along with 1,005 recoveries.

One new death was also reported.

With this, 94,903 cases have recovered in the country, while total deaths stand at 134.

As many as 4,886 new COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the country, taking the total number of tests to nearly 400,000.

There are as many as 5,908 active cases in the country, the ministry said.

Seven people have been admitted into intensive care units (ICUs) in the past 24 hours, while 67 acute cases were hospitalized.

Qatar is now the the world’s 21st country in terms of infections surpassing China where the outbreak started, as the country exceeded 100,000 cases on Monday. — Agencies
