Kuwait confirms 762 new COVID-19 cases

KUWAIT CITY — The health ministry on Wednesday reported 762 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, along with 593 cases of recovery.

Two new deaths were also reported.

With this, a total of 52,007 COVID-19 cases have been reported in the country, along with 42,108 recoveries. Total deaths stand at 379.

As many as 4,344 new COVID-19 tests were carried out in the country, the ministry said, taking the total to 417,874 tests.

There are 9,520 active cases in the country, of which 161 are serious.

Commercial activities were allowed to resume with some restrictions as part of the country’s second phase of reopening.

International flights to and from Kuwait will resume on Aug. 1, the country announced last week. — Agencies
